Ah, finally finished. <3 Yeah, yeah, I'm too lazy to do anything spectacular, but at least I completed something. ^ ^

Anyway, this is drawn because I'm feeling particularly... displeased... at the moment. ^ ^; Sea scouts (( often referred to as Boy Scouts' best-kept secret )) is an organization that I've been a member of for nearly five years now, and it's very important to me. It's a co-ed, water-based branch of BSA, and I adore it. Unfortunately, they've just decided that, nation-wide, all boats over 50-feet in length are too much of a liability, and therefore will either be sold or paid for by the crew in charge of it.

Our boat, the S.E.S. Challenger, is 40 feet long. However, we belong to the Chief Seattle Council, which has decided to do away with ALL of the boats, regardless of length. We can buy her from them for a dollar, but insurance alone will be about $10,000 a year, not to mention maintenance, etc. It's a pretty bleak situation for us right now.

I'd love to stage a mutiny - kick some ass and take some names and save our 40-foot damsel in distress. But that would probably end in me getting arrested, which wouldn't help anything. So I'm thinking I'll draw more, get my name out there a bit, then sell commissions to raise funds for her. I can't imagine us without her.

If anyone can give me ideas on fund-raising, or on the situation in general, I'd appreciate it. Car washes, bake sales, and sponsorship are what I'm mulling over right now, in addition to commissions and work in general. Oh, recommendations on prices for my art would be great, too. <3

Honestly, Liz, the way you color is so effed up. It's like half of it is brilliance but the other half is pure shit.

It's hard to describe so let me give you some examples. The whole torso area in terms of the cloth-wrinkles and their shading is done very naturally. It's really nice there. But go down a few inched and the contrast on the lower pants by comparison is totally off, and where the hells the light coming from.

and then you draw a brilliant gun, but somehow manage to miss the fact that hair casts a shadow on the face? whaaaaat?

again, brilliant shading on the anchor (loads better than I can do, cept there's too much shadow on the right inner side of the ring and there's a few contrast issues that cancel out it's perspective, I think... o.O Where did I figure out this shit? really.) but the shoes? what, are they plastic? leather= not that hard light edging.

oh, and maybe start putting a shadow at the top of you noses when you color, so it actually looks like an indent at the top of the nose instead of some weird fish-face thing. I've actually noticed that the past few pics, just forgot to mention.

I'm aware I sound like a self-righteous bitch here, sorry. Your brilliance being dimmed by this hack-job inspired it, so nyeh.
